Most of us have seen movies like Basic Instinct, 9 1/2 Weeks, Secretary, and Fifty Shades of Grey, but what do we really know about BDSM? Strapped for Cash is a comedy series following the decidedly un-cinematic home lives of two roommates in Brooklyn: Eric, a sexually vanilla guy with a day job; and Isis, a professional dominatrix whose bedroom is her home office. The series picks up where most mainstream portrayals of the worlds of kink and BDSM leave off, introducing Eric (and maybe some viewers) to a few of the lesser-known corners of a thriving sub-culture through Isis and her clientele. And while these stories are fictional, they're based on the years of experience of an actual dominatrix.
